The Australian Lobby Group (AusLobby), today announced that Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party has adopted several core immigration policy measures from AusLobby’s comprehensive Australia First Migration Policy Framework.

The announcement follows Senator Hanson’s recent statements in The Courier Mail, in which she detailed the widespread rorting of Australia’s student visa system and proposed concrete reforms that directly mirror long-standing AusLobby recommendations.
Senator Hanson stated:

“The move will prevent students from abusing the system with course hopping.

“They get a student visa, drop out soon after and apply to a bunch of bogus schools or courses while remaining on a bridging visa which allows them to work and access housing and services in Australia.”

Senator Hanson further confirmed that her policy would prevent international students from lodging appeals with the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) as she delivered a blunt message to international students who drop out of their courses while accusing Australian universities of exploiting loopholes.

Under the new policy released by One Nation this week, international students who drop out, will be forced to return home, before reapplying for another course, rather than visa-hopping on bridging visas.

AusLobby has advocated these exact measures since inception as part of its full, evidence-based migration policy. One Nation’s rapid adoption demonstrates clear alignment with the Australia First policy framework, which prioritises Australian workers, housing affordability, and the integrity of the migration system over unchecked mass immigration.

Key measures now adopted by One Nation from AusLobby’s policy:

• Immediate ban on international students lodging appeals with the ART after visa refusal or cancellation, directly addressing the current crisis where 130,983 cases are before the Tribunal, 40 per cent (52,412) of which are study visa appeals taking an average of 69 weeks to resolve.
• Crackdown on student visa holders who drop out of genuine courses and use bridging visas to remain in Australia, work, and access housing and services.
• Stronger action against bogus education providers and sham courses that facilitate visa rorting.

These steps form part of AusLobby’s broader Australia First Migration Policy, which includes:

• Capping annual migration at 80,000 gross
• Placing a five-year freeze on all non-essential visas to relieve massive pressure on housing, wages, services and national cohesion.
• Strict enforcement on overstayed visas, major reform to the student visa system.
• Prioritising the return of Australians and genuinely skilled workers.

These reforms will stabilise population growth and help restore affordability and social stability.
