Key Policies

The Australian Lobby Group stands for a stronger, fairer and more sovereign Australia. Our policy priorities are built on one principle: putting Australians first. From restoring control over our borders and economy, to strengthening families, lowering the cost of living, and returning power to local communities; these key issues outline our vision for a secure and prosperous nation. Below is a snapshot of our core policies.

End Mass Immigration

Australia’s migration system is out of control. We propose capping annual migration at 80,000 gross and placing a five-year freeze on all non-essential visas to relieve massive pressure on housing, wages, services and national cohesion. This includes strict enforcement on overstayed visas, major reform to the student visa system, and prioritising the return of Australians and genuinely skilled workers. These reforms will stabilise population growth and help restore affordability and social stability.

Energy should be affordable, reliable, and Australian-owned. We will exit Paris targets, phase out costly renewable subsidies, and restore real baseload power using high-efficiency coal and a transition to nuclear technology. Combined with investment in hydro and geothermal options — and ending government overreach on transmission corridors — this approach aims to drive electricity prices below 10c/kWh by 2030.

Working Australians deserve immediate cost-of-living relief. Raising the tax-free threshold to $60,000 will return thousands to low- and middle-income earners each year. We also propose voluntary superannuation, allowing Australians to choose whether to invest in their retirement fund or direct pre-tax income towards paying off their home — giving families genuine control over their financial future.

To restore Australia’s sovereignty, elected representatives and senior officials must be prohibited from participating in globalist bodies such as the UN, WHO, GAVI and WEF. Exiting these organisations will allow Australia to reclaim independent decision-making on health, defence, finance, infrastructure and education, while redirecting millions of taxpayer dollars into domestic priorities.

Parents, not bureaucrats, should decide what childcare works best for their family. We propose directing subsidies straight to families through a voucher system that can be used for centres, nannies or stay-at-home care. Income splitting for couples until the youngest child turns 18 will support family stability, recognise unpaid caregiving, and ease the financial burden on young families.

Australia must own its infrastructure again. A Sovereign Infrastructure Bank would fund roads, rail, ports, dams and power networks using low-interest domestic bonds, not foreign debt. Revenue from these assets would flow back into government coffers, reducing the tax burden on Australians while ensuring our nation’s essential infrastructure remains publicly owned and operated.

Australia needs a clear, constitutional guarantee of individual freedoms. We propose drafting a member-backed Australian Bill of Rights and pursuing its enshrinement through referendum. This would protect free speech, remove vague and politically motivated hate-speech laws, and ensure future governments cannot erode civil liberties behind closed doors.

Excessive excise taxes unfairly punish everyday Australians. We propose an immediate 70% cut to beer, fuel and tobacco taxes to reduce cost-of-living pressures and unwind decades of government overcharging. A broader review will also examine buyback options to address predatory gambling practices that disproportionately affect families and vulnerable communities.

Whistleblowers should not face financial ruin for telling the truth. We propose expanding the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s mandate, introducing independent oversight of government legal actions, and providing funded legal support for genuine whistleblowers. This ensures accountability, protects public servants, and holds governments to a higher standard of transparency.
The HECS system is broken. We propose freezing indexation, capping repayments at 7 years, and tying university funding to graduate employment outcomes to ensure accountability. Universities benefiting from taxpayer funds must demonstrate real-world results. Corporate HECS sponsorship programs would also allow businesses to help graduates reduce their debt while investing in Australia’s future workforce.

To rebuild national capability, we propose establishing specialist Corps that train Australians in engineering, construction and medical professions. Semi-retired experts would train the next generation while working on nationally significant infrastructure. Graduates would receive qualifications and access to subsidised land, building strong communities and reducing reliance on foreign labour.

Housing must become affordable again. We propose restricting foreign ownership, limiting negative gearing to new builds, reducing construction costs by reverting to earlier NCC standards, and fast-tracking 500 pre-approved home designs for rapid delivery. Taxes on home-and-land packages would be capped at 20% to drive down prices and increase supply.

Australians should not be forced into a digital-surveillance state. We will push to repeal the Digital ID Act and Online Safety Act 2025 and actively oppose the proposed Digital Duty of Care Bill. These laws enable unprecedented data collection, monitoring and control, and must be rolled back to protect civil liberties and privacy.
The Australian Lobby Group advocates an Australia-first, non-interventionist national security strategy that prioritises sovereignty, border security, and direct threats to citizens over foreign conflicts or ideological pursuits.
Reliance on the Governor-General (a person installed by government) to reign in a government that has gone off the rails, is no longer viable. To that end, we will seek laws that add a permanent “Recall Election” power to Australian citizens.

Reform of Question Time and Presiding Officers for Greater Impartiality to strengthen democratic accountability in the Australian Parliament by eliminating scripted “Dorothy Dixers” during Question Time and ensuring the Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the Senate serve as truly non-partisan presiding officers.
